 Introduction of SYSU


Sun Yat-sen University (中山大学 – Zhōng Shān Dà Xué) is a public university located in Guangdong, the most economically developed province in China. The university was founded in 1924 by Dr Sun Yat-sen, a Chinese revolutionary, first president and founding father of the Republic of China. Consistently ranked among the top 10 universities in China as well being ranked in the top 400 universities in the world, Sun Yat-sen University provides undergraduate and graduate instruction in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, technology, medical science, pharmacology and managerial science, with 36,000 students and more than 12,000 academic staff. As example of SYSU level of excellence, the university's has developed hand to hand with government organizations the world's fastest supercomputer Tianhe-2 as well as the largest network of leading affiliated hospital system in China which an advanced Cancer Treatment Center. Sun Yat-sen University’s motto will resume perfectly this pursue of excellence: “Study Extensively, Enquire Accurately, Reflect Carefully, Discriminate Clearly, Practice Earnestly”. At present, the university covers a total area of 6.17 square kilometers and has 4 campuses: Guangzhou South Campus, Guangzhou North Campus, Guangzhou East Campus, and Zhuhai Campus.
